I believe Samuel was a blacksmith, and he supposedly went to Waterbury,
VT. I found a Samuel in 1800 census who might be him.

Avery was a blacksmith and so were 2 of his sons. Avery's probable
brother Royal was b in VT ca 1795-6 (according to census).

The only source I've found for children of Samuel is notes of Frank
Dempster Sherman (who d 1916), and he references "MS. Record of Rev DS".
(Might that be the Rev. David Sherman who had article in The American
Genealogist in 1870 regarding SHERMAN family?)
