Just an FYI that the first person with that name in MA in census is John
GREGOIRE, with a wife and 12 children:

GREGOIRE, JOHN (1870 U.S. Census)
MASSACHUSETTS , HAMPDEN, CHICOPEE
Age: 44, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA
Series: M593 Roll: 616 Page: 140

By 1880, there were 43 people in MA with that name, with 32 of them in
Hampden County. There were 8 in Middlesex Co., and 3 in Bristol Co.
In Middlesex Co., they were either in Lowell or Cambridge, and some were
born in Canada and some were born in NY.

Don't forget that the 1880 census is available at www.familysearch.org
(I think I just read it is available on another site for free.)

By 1900 there were 62 people with the name in MA, with 20 in Worcester Co.
and 20 in Middlesex Co. And, the 1910 census shows similar numbers.
In 1920, there were 78 people, with 29 people in Middlesex Co., and 20 in
Worcester Co. (I cannot check 1930.)

For your specific question, there was a Joseph GREGOIRE in Manchester, NH,
in 1900. I can't read the wife's name, but it sort of looks like Laura.

NEW HAMPSHIRE , HILLSBOROUGH, 9-WD MANCHESTER
Age: 25, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA
Series: T623 Roll: 948 Page: 89

There is another Joseph in a nearby town with a wife, Parmella (?):

GREGOIRE, JOSEPH (1900 U.S. Census)
NEW HAMPSHIRE , HILLSBOROUGH, WILTON
Age: 54, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA
Series: T623 Roll: 948 Page: 270

In MA, in 1900, there were 7 .. Joseph GREGOIRE's, 3 in Middlesex Co. and 2
in Hampden Co.

In MA in 1910 there were 4 Joseph's, 3 in Lowell. In NH there were 6
Joseph's, with a father and son in Manchester, both with a wife, Maria.
(23 with the name in US.) There is similar information for 1920.

The only Eugenia / Eugenie I can find is this:

GREGOIRE, EUGENIE (1900 U.S. Census)
MASSACHUSETTS , WORCESTER, SOUTHBRIDGE
Age: 27, Female, Race: WHITE, Born: CT
Series: T623 Roll: 694 Page: 291
