Hi Bob,

I found a Peter and Mary DALEY living in Boston in 1870, but they only had 2
baby daughters with them.

DALEY, PETER (1870 U.S. Census)
MASSACHUSETTS , SUFFOLK, 12-WD BOSTON
Age: 45, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: IREL
Series: M593 Roll: 647 Page: 233

There was a John DALEY with them, but he was 28 and might have been a nephew
or brother.

There was a Peter DALY in Boston, but with a wife, Ellen, and 3 children,
not named George or John.

There were 8 Mary DALY 's in Boston, but none seem to match up with your
family. The same with the different spelling ~10 Mary DALEY 's.

That's all I can offer for now.

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

FYI for others: When doing this search, I discovered several pages of
names which, if I'm reading the handwriting correctly, shows them as inmates
in an "Insane Asylum" in Ipswich, MA.

Was there some type of hospital in Ipswich in 1870?
