Subject: [GENMASSACHUSETTS] Another NEGS look up request

Not to impose on the kindness of strangers - but I'd like to make a lookup request, if I may, also.

While my grandfather lived much of his life in Massachusetts he is originally from New Hampshire. I have hit a brick wall with his great grandparents. His father was William C Smith, born in 1850 in Tuftonboro to Isaac D. Smith, born I think in 1821, in either Maine or Mass and his wife Mary (possibly Ayer), born about 1823.

Would anyone be able to find out more about Isaac and Mary- when and where they married? Who their parents might have been? I have been able to find them in many of the census records but can't find anything about where they came from. In the 1850 census they were living near Elisha and Sarah Smith in Tuftonboro but there seems to be too big of an age difference for them to be Isaac's parents - and with a name like Smith they may not be related at all!
