Hi Dave,

Thank you for mentioning this. I saw it a few days ago and was going to
look the man's name up in census records, and I forgot. I just checked
1920 and there is a man in Springfield. I think the handwriting says he
was a foreman, but I can't read where. I can't access the 1930 census.

KIDDER, GEORGE N (1920 U.S. Census)
MASSACHUSETTS , HAMPDEN, 1-WD SPRINGFIELD
Age: 39, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: NY
Series: T625 Roll: 702 Page: 102

Oh, Northfield wasn't where I thought it was. It's in Franklin Co., near
VT:

Here is the correct man:

KIDDER, GEORGE N (1920 U.S. Census)
MASSACHUSETTS , FRANKLIN, NORTHFIELD
Age: 49, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: VT
Series: T625 Roll: 698 Page: 140

I can't read his wife's name, but it starts with M, and it might be
something like Muriel. No children are mentioned, but they have a
12-yr-old boy listed as a "ward." Emerson ? GR..... or GU .....
And, they have 2 female "boarders" in the home, in their 20's, one working
at the store, another a teacher. By the way, the post card looks like the
store has misc. items, but it is listed as a furniture store.
The couple is there in 1910 and this time the wife's name looks like Minnie.
They had been married for 15 years and had no children. They were both
from VT families. I don't see them in Franklin Co. in 1900, or in VT.

Betty (near Lowell, MA)
