I am searching for more information on Major Jonathan HASTINGS. He was
born in Charlemont, MA in 1738. He was married twice;
Esther SMEAD married approx 1759 (info from LDS which is not verified)

Abigail SMITH Dec 6, 1781 Charlemont, Franklin, MA verified with MA VRs

I am searching for the marriage date for Jonathan and Esther Smead as well
as his date and location of death. There is a record that appears to be
him in the 1800 census of Charlemont, so I am assuming his death is after
that date.
His son by the same name possibly died in 1837.

Any help with this information would be appreciated. I have exhausted all
Ancestry.com and LDS resources. I find nothing in various hard cover
books that I own. Maj Jonathan Hastings is my 4th great grandfather.
