Message Board Post:
Thank you Donna & Heather,
Using Familysearch Joseph Martin was born Azores W.I.
I wonder was Hannah actually Jennie's mother not sister. Hannah arrived 1854 the same year Jennie was born. Maybe that is why she left Ireland, she had a little bun in the oven.
Jennie Carrah is living with Hannah 1900 census.
In Ellen's obit, it states survived by her two sisters Mrs. Joseph Martin and Mrs. Jennie Carrah. With Hannah's daughter Albertina marrying the Congressman, maybe it was time for a little cover up.
I wonder are there any records for the State Home in Lancaster?
Hannah & her husband Joseph are missing in a few census up to 1900, I wonder was Jennie living close to them in the Azores, that is how she picked up the name Carrah, she may have married in the Azores. The name in the Azores seems to be Carrea.
Thank you again
Brendan
