On the 1900 census they say he was born New York, as I am unfamiliar with distances in the States i agree that we need to prove or disprove this information. I'm hoping that the other information that we have does relate to him,is there any way of checking the address or telephone number given for 4204 Gladstone PGH Ally PA.Might there be someone at the number remember anything of this family, What does PGH Ally PA mean, obviously it is an abreviation but of what. Is it worth me trying to ring do you think. Is there anyway that I can check for the death of Mary Ellen Norris (mother) as being listed at the same residence (1940's) Does the company of Jones and Laughlin still exist?
