I'm curious to know if you have found any info on these folks and a potential link. I am doing a project on the Town of Weymouth and am also trying to place the Dunns - I was thinking perhaps they were taken in as boarders tho the 1850 census does not indicate whether someone is a tenant of the household...I assume neighbor Willard Dunn is Eliphalet's brother living next door with another branch of the same Thayer family - Warren Thayer, the head of the neighboring household, was the son of the former Sarah Blanchard, widow of Demetrius Thayer, living next door with Chloe and Eliphalet.

Chloe died unmarried.

Not sure if this means much but the Blanchard family did have connections to Maine so perhaps the Dunns, if not simply taking advantage of the bootmaking opportunities in Weymouth - were connected to Blanchards. FYI, Warren Thayer's wife was Mary Jane Tirrell, another Weymouth family deeply connected to the shoe industry. Most of the households had someone making shoes during the boom years.
