My father was adopted as an infant. I emailed the bureau of vital statistics recently to ask if there is any way adoption records are opened and got no reply.
Anyway... my father was born in Milford, MA on December 20, 1939. What I heard is he was told his parents had died in a train accident. He was adopted as a young infant, but I don't know what age. If I remember right, my grandmother had pictures of him starting about 3 months old.
I would like to see the birth announcements for all males born on December 20, 1939 to see if it gives any clues.
(And if anyone can tell me if they EVER open up adoption records. My father and his adopted parents are deceased.)
