Elijah A. Leathe, born abt. 1807, in Mass. died in Jacksonville, Tompkins County, NY 30 Nov. 1873. He is in the 1870 census in Dryden, NY with wife Almina Leathe. The Ithaca Journal obit dated 8 Aug 1874 (a considerable time later than death - not sure why)gave little information about him. He was buried 19 Dec. 1873 which is also a fair amount of time after his actual death. Am trying to determine where he is buried. It's very possible he was born in Woburn, Mass. (definitely in Mass. though) and I wonder if he was perhaps returned there for burial particularly given the length of time between the death and the burial. To date no additional information has turned up in the NY search. Any information you might have is greatly appreciated.
