Ruth M. (Belcher) Larson, of Reading, June 12, 2009. Beloved wife of the late George R. Larson, Sr.; devoted mother of George R. Larson, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Reading, and Nancy C. Firth of Chelmsford. Loving grandmother of Valerie Fernald, Victoria Trudel, Sarah Fennelly, and Andrew Larson, and great-grandmother of 6. Cherished sister of Margery Barry of Norwell, Phyllis De Gregorio of Lake Worth, FL, and the late Frank Belcher, Alice Bernier, Ada Beddeos, Richard and Harold Belcher. Mother-in-law of the late Thomas E. Firth, Jr. of Chelmsford. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 15 at 10 am the Church of the Good Shepherd 95 Woburn St. Reading. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Sunday at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.), Reading from 2-5.

Nancy C. (Larson) Firth

CHELMSFORD -- Nancy C. (Larson) Firth, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away Saturday July 23, 2011, following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma, at the age of 71. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Firth, Jr., to whom she was married for thirty-four years. Nancy was born in Winthrop on October 15, 1939, a daughter of the late George R. and Ruth M. (Belcher) Larson. She went to school as a child in Winthrop before moving to Reading, MA where she graduated from Reading Memorial HS with the class of 1957. She also attended Green Mountain College in VT, graduating in 1959. She worked for several years as a secretary to the president of the Boston & Maine Railroad, and then went on to serve as the Treasurer of both the East Chelmsford, and the North Chelmsford Water Districts for over 30 years, until her retirement in 2007. Additionally she served as a warden at the voting polls in Chelmsford for many years. Nancy was a member of All Saints' Episcop!
al Church in Chelmsford, where she served on the Altar Guild. She was an active member of her Reading H.S. class of 1957 reunion committee, and met regularly with her high school club and bridge club for over 40 years. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, she enjoyed vacationing with her family at her home in Florida, and she loved to shop, garden, and read.
Nancy is survived by 2 daughters; Valerie (Berger) Fernald and her husband Brian of Chelmsford, and Victoria (Firth) Trudel and her husband Jamie of Nashua, 3 step-children; Thomas E. Firth, III and his wife Linda of Methuen, Deborah (Firth) Donnelly and her husband Gary of Lowell, and Richard A. Firth and his wife Brenda of Richford, VT. She was "Nunny" to 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, George Larson and his wife Nancy of Reading, and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy's family would like to thank Dr. Ardman and his staff at the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, for providing such compassionate care to Nancy throughout her illness.
FIRTH -- Nancy C. (Larson) Firth. Age 71, of Chelmsford, beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Firth, Jr. Visiting hours will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St. CHELMSFORD, on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Funeral Service Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 10 Billerica Rd. Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
