I was going to look up the Church address & phone, and when I saw it was on Fenn St., it made me remember the Census where a "Sino / Siro / Sira" (depending on how you pronounce it - I think their "N" is actually an "R" - see similar) family lived just down from the church on the same street. (Folks will typically go to the closest neighborhood church). This might be Mary's family ...
The family lived at 529 Fenn St - about 2 blocks down from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (which is at 359 Fenn St). According to weddings and obits, this might be the church the family belonged to.
It's very possible that Mary's middle name was Virginia (or vice/versa) and so as NOT to confuse between the 2 Mary's, she went by Virginia until she was out & married (??).
Not sure, but it's possible.

SEE LINE #8 - I think your Mary might actually be Virgina - dates add up.

If you check for obituaries for Pittsfield area, for Sira/Sera for the MALE SIBLINGS of Mary, you might find that's what they called her.
