These are great questions. I have actually done a bit of research on the Car(a)manicas on Devens, but still have not been able to link them to her more than by address...no sign of John. They also sort of fall after the radar shortly thereafter. This, actually, is why I was hoping the Niagara Caramens might lead to Massachusetts. But, as more and more gets added online, I'm sure I'll come across other clues that will tie more of this together. And, visits to Franklin County offices are in order, too.
I have both Maria and Cecilia's naturalization cards and will be requesting Maria's naturalization paperwork (I've gotten confirmation from the gov't of its existence and number(s)): I have a fairly long list of SSDI and other sorts of request so am spreading them (the fees) out over time. Thought this was worth a shot in case anyone happened to be looking for my great-grandmother and just not know it.
Thanks again!
