Salem N.J. He Married
Mary Grissom. They had twins born Aug. 21,1826 in Alloway Creek N.J.
Their mother died

Records Show name changed to Jefferies. 1829,4,1, Elijah and minor
children go
to Greenwich N.J. 1838,7,30 Elijah W. disunty. 1836 Joseph Jeffries,
minor to
Greenwich,,he was put with a Husted family. His father went to Indiana.
Joseph married Jane
Williams May 19,1856. They had 6 children. My grandfather John Jeffers
was born after his
fathers death. his siblings were Elijah,Mary,Benjamin,William and George.
He was put out to a Williams family. He had a brother William who spelled
his .name Jefferis . The census record has my grandfathers name three ways,
Quaker records three ways. The original name in Wiltshire England was
Jeffreys. This can be checked out in the Philadelpia Quaker records .
