GREETINGS

Please accept my apologies if you receive more than
one copy of this message, as I am posting to all the
Jeff* lists because my researches in Jefferis
genealogy lead me to believe that this name has been
spelled every way from Jefferies to Jeffers with some
people using a y rather than an i as in
Jefferys.

So I must post to ALL the lists in order to find all
possible cousins.

Today, lets have some fun and exchange information on
immigrant ancestors in the Jeff* families.

Ill go first; my immigrant JEFFERIS ancestor was
Robert Jefferis. He arrived about 1690 in
Pennsylvania though I dont know the ship or the
date or his port of arrival. Robert reputedly came
from Wiltshire, England, and I dont have any firm
data about where in Wiltshire. In the mid 1690s he
married Jane Chandler, who reputedly also was a recent
arrival from Wiltshire.

Robert and Jane were Quaker. This family is mentioned
in Pennsylvania Quaker sources.

Consider this to be a roll call of immigrant
ancestors and post information about your immigrant
ancestors also tell me where I might search for
details on the immigration of Robert Jefferis and Jane
Chandler.
