Message Board Post:

I'm trying to find the connection between Will J. Jeffery and my grandmother Elsie (Pruitt) (Neal) Negrini.

I found an old newsletter among my fathers things that was for the "Jeffery, Leach, and associated families", dating from 1978, mailed out by a Mildred Hall. It mentions her grandfather, Will J. Jeffery is about to turn 90. It mentions several other surnames including Pruett (probably Pruitt). It also mentions someone named Elsie who I believe is my grandmother. My father has no idea who these people are, it's been 28 years since he got it.

To futher seal a connection, I found my grandmother in the 1930 census (Hamilton Co, TX, Precinct 6, page 1) along with her parents Ben P. and Clydie Pruitt, and directly below them was none other than Will J. Jeffery. Two households above them was John L. Leach, another family mentioned in the newsletter.

Who are these people, and how are they related to my grandmother, Elsie Pruitt? Elsie passed away 6 years ago and I never really knew her, and never had a chance to ask these questions.

I found someone named Marion Muller on these message boards who said she had info on thousands of Jefferies including Will, I believe. But her email address no longer works. Her last message was about 5 years ago.

Here's the only data I have on the Pruitts:
Ben P. Pruitt (b. abt 1896 in Texas), married Clydie Unknown (b. abt 1904 in Texas) abt 1922 in Texas.
Children:
Elsie Pruitt b 12 Dec, 1922, Texas, d 11 Oct, 2000, Galveston, Texas
Morris Pruitt b abt 1926 in Texas
Clinton Pruitt b abt 1928 in Texas
Martha Pruitt b in Texas
Lorraine Pruitt b in Texas

I've got the newsletter scanned, anyone interested in it or with any info, please email me: mattneal _at_ comcast _dot_ net.

(a similar message will also be posted under the "Leach" and "Pruitt" message boards)
