Hi gang:
Okay, I need a little information....I have Benjamin G. Cotten born in
1809 in Summerville. I have no death information and no place where he was
buried. His son was born in Harrissonburg in 1853 (the only child I have
found) and was also buried there in 1946. Someone checked the Harrisonburg
Cemetery where the son (Elisha Lot Cotten) was buried and didn't find
Benjamin or his wife Elizabeth there (Elizabeth Cloid? Cloyde? Claud?)
I understand that Harrisonburg became part of Catahoula Parish in 1810.
I can't find Benjamin in any Catahoula Parish census (must have hid from the
census takers)....I understand that parts of Catahoula came from
Rapides...are there any other parishes I should check?
