My name is James E. Lantrip, and I helped write the Lantrip Book. A person who helped us a great deal lives in Gilmer and Her husband was a Lantrip Descendant. He was Billy Steelman. His wife used to be the GenWeb county coordinator of Upshur Co. Texas. She still may be doing that now. I am sure that she could help you with information. She Billy died several years ago, and she is a widow. Worth a try. In the Lantrip Book there are more than 5 pages of text devoted to Nancy's Father Malachi Lantrip. As he fought in both the Confederate Army and later conscripted into the Union Army to fight Indians in Colorado area. If I can be of any more help let me know. This is a very interesting branch of the Lantrip history. Many preachers and most were Methodist.

Jim Lantrip.
