According to my records, James Potter is the son of Capt. John Potter. He is
the son by the first marriage, Catherine Crozier. Capt. John then married
Martha Baird, Beard whichever, and they had a son named Samuel Potter who
married John A. Latta. James Potter's wives were as you listed.
This information is in the Drayson's Manuscripts, I believe. One of the many
volumes, PP talks about the Potter family. Hope this can be of some
