Samuel Potter married Susanna Poe,(believe it was a first or second cousin).
Samuel was the son of John Potter and Martha Beard or Bard. From what I
gather, Capt. John Potter's first wife, Catherine Crozier, must have died in
Ireland and he married his second wife, Martha in Ireland, for Samuel
Potter was born in Tyrone Co. Ireland-Pooh Scotland. There are the Bard
Paper's which have alot of interesting information on the Beard/Bard family.

Capt. John Potter's sister, Mary married Martha's brother, James Beard/Bard.
They were certainly inter-married.

I don't know if this little bit of information helps or not, but Anna
Potter, the eldest daughter of Capt. John Potter and Martha was married to
Alexander Young. Seemed like I had seen that name come up in the Latta
family.

Let me know if any of this is any interest to you. By the way, would you
tell me again just who is Branch 1 related too in the branches. I have DAR
records that mention the Neeley family as relatives that go back to William
Latta. Sandy Brown-Johnston
