Subject: What should we do with what we find.....Any help would be appreciated

Hi All,

I need some help with this...

I like many others find bits of information on the internet related to Latta
genealogy.

If after we read it over and then look to the online branch and find it was
not recorded.... What should we do with what we find....how can we share it?

I have seen people (myself included) pass on a web site, only to find a
short time later it's unavailable for some reason. I'm afraid if we only
record the web addresses over time some of the web sites will close down and
with it the information that could prove useful.

Should we Re-type/record the web site information before it's gone,
something like R.H.L did in his work? And then who would we send it to for
safe keeping?

Should we send what we find to the Branch Captain and let them determine its
usefulness?

If the information belongs to a branch without a captain what can we do to
store it, but still be seen by everyone until we get a captain... Who should
we send it to? Should we send it to the list and let Roots-L archive it?
(Will people on the list get sick of that)

If we find history on a Latta that has not made a tie to a Branch or Note
how should we share it, How do we save it for future use?

Any help would be appreciated

P.S. Should any of us pass over what they find online/offline with the
thought "This must be old news, I'm not going to bother everyone with it"?
