Statements of William Latty and his son, James W. Latty, for their sister and aunt, Sarah Latty Fuller, in her application for her civil war widow's pension on her deceased husband, Jesse Thomas Fuller. Statements also from Amanda E. Feese, (Sarah's neice, William's daughter), and her husband David Feese.

"State of Arkansas. Benton County.

Personally appeared before me, a Notary Public, in and for Benton County Ark., William Latty, who being duly sworn according to to law, certifies as follows:

That he has lived as a neighbor to Sarah A. Fuller, wife of the soldier, for nearly 60 years, and that she was not married to any man from 1862 to January 19, 1868, and that his Post Office is Caverna, Missouri. (Signed. His x mark; William Latty)

Sworn and subscribed to before me, a Notary Public this 3rd. day of March 1899. F.M. Marr N.P. My commission expires June 13, 1900."

Affidavit of William Latty

State of Missouri, County of McDonald

Personally appeared before me, a Notary Public, within and for McDonald County, William Latty, age 66 years old, P.O. Jane, Missouri, states that Sarah A. Fuller was married to Jesse T. Fuller in my house on Mill Creek, McDonald County Missouri on the 19th. day of January, 1868.

And I also know that the claimant, Sarah A. Fuller was married to William Tittle and the last I herd of him he was in the prison near Spadra Bluff on the Arkansas River. And I also know that the claimant Sarah A. Fuller has not married since the death of Jesse T. Fuller. And the said Sarah A. Fuller has no children under the age of 21 years.

In the matter of application of Sarah A. Fuller, widow of Jesse T. Fuller, on this the 16th. day of September A.D. 1896, personally appeared before me, a notary public in and for the aforesaid County, duly authorized to administer oaths, William Latty and J.W.. Latty, aged 66 years; a resident of Jane in the County of McDonald and the State of Missouri, whose post office address is Jane Missouri and J.W. Latty, aged 45 years; a resident of Jane in the County of McDonald and the State of Missouri, whose post office address is Jane Missouri; well known to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn, declared in relation to aforesaid case as follows:

That they were present and know of their own personal knowledge that Sarah A. Fuller was married to Jesse T. Fuller at our home on Mill Creek in McDonald County Mo. on the 19th day of January, 1868, and I also know the claimant, Sarah A. Fuller was married to William Tittle and the last heard of him, he was in prison near Spadra Bluff on the Arkansas River, at which place he died. And we also know that Sarah A. Fuller has not married since the death of Jesse T. Fuller and the said Sarah A. Fuller has no children under the age of 21 years.

That the above statements were written in my presence from oral declarations there made by us to W. A. Blair a Notary Public at his office in Sulpher Springs, Benton County Arkansas on the 16th day of September, 1896, and by him then and there, reduced to writing, and that we was not prompted or aided by any written or printed statement or recital prepared or dictated by any other person and not attached hereto as an exhibit.

Statements from David and Amanda Latty Feese in the application of Sarah Fuller for civil war widow's pension on her deceased husband Jesse Thomas Fuller.

"Affidavit of Amanda E. Feese whose age is 46 years, a resident of Benton County Arkansas, whose P.O. is Sulpher Springs Arkansas.

Affiant states that she was present and seen Sarah A. Fuller and J.T. Fuller married. They were married at the house of William Latty in McDonald County Missouri on the 19th. day of January, 1868; and I can further state that the claimant has not remarried since the death J.T. Fuller.

Signed, Amanda E. Feese (Sarah Latty Fuller's niece, William Latty's daughter).

And I, David Feese, whose age is 68 years old, a resident of Benton County Arkansas, also state that the claimant has not married since the death of J.T. Fuller and I have known Sarah Fuller and Jesse T. Fuller for 23 years and I know they lived together as man and wife ever since I first knew them.
