Last Rites For Louis J. Thomas Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Louis J. Thomas, 58, who died at a local hospital
October 31, after an illness of many months, were held at Our Lady of
Lourdes Catholic Church Tuesday, at 4:30 p.m., with the Rev. Father
William Hopp of Hodge officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield
Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers were Henry Nugent, Glenn Guin, A. J. Richardson,
Tommy Fredericks, Newton Forrest, and Harold DeBray.

A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Thomas has been employed as bookkeeper for many
years by the American Creosote Works of New Orleans. For the past 13 years he
had been associated with the Winnfield branch of the plant and had made his
home in this city. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his mother, Mrs. Johnna S. Thomas, and a sister,
Mrs. Roy Turner, both of Okmulgee, Okla.
