Last Rites Held For K. L. Boyett March 26, 1955

Funeral services for Kindred L. Boyett, 80, of Joyce, who passed away
Saturday, March 26, 1955, in a Winnfield hospital, were held Sunday afternoon
from the Zion Hill Baptist Church near Tannehill. Officiating were Dr.
Mott, Rev. L. J. Stotts, and Rev. C. R. McCartney. Burial was in Zion Hill
Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

In early life, Mr. Boyett moved to the Tannehill Community where he was a
farmer and timber contractor. He was closely associated with the Zion Hill
Church, serving as a deacon. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. A
few years ago he moved to the Joyce Community.

Mr. Boyett is survived by his wife, the former Miss Ida Holder, whom he
married in 1896. He also leaves the following children: Morris J. and Huborn,
Beaumont, Texas; Houston A. of Shreveport; Virgil L. of Conroe, Texas; Mrs.
O. L. Hughes, Pineville; Mrs. Riley H. Creel, Sr., of Joyce; Mrs. Burnam S.
Blalock of Sulphur, La., and Mrs. Jimmie H. Richard of Shreveport.

Surviving also are 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one brother,
Wiley Boyett of Dodson.
