Mansfield (Sabine Cross Roads) is not what he's looking for I don't think, I
think it's the skirmish at Salsbury Bridge on the north end of the lake
which occurred about the same time as Mansfield/Pleasant Hill in the Red
River Campaign. Supposedly a detachment of Union soldiers were sent over to
destroy the Salt Works and were met with resistance at Salsbury Bridge,
several losing their lives, and are buried at Old Harmony Cemetery near the
area where the bridge once was. Pilings from the bridge are still visible
at certain times when the lake is down.
