This post should be read in a full window because of the table
Missing Pages Piece RG12-0429 ED6 - Wandsworth/Battersea West-St Mary's
Following John Russell's posting I checked and found that there appears to be several pages missing from the above Piece.
Checking the Enumeration District Abstract Table (Folio120) against the actual pages in the ED Book shows the following discrepancies after Folio 143-2 (ED6 page 38):
Abstract Page # Number of Schedules ED Page #/Folio # Actual # of Schedules
35 5 35/142-1 5
36 7 36/142-2 7
37 5 37/143-1 5
38 6 38/143-2 6
39 6 Missing page? (6)
40 8 Missing Page? (8)
41 8 No Page #/144-1 8
42 8 42?/144-2 8
43 11 No More Pages
44 9
45 7
46 4
From the above it would seem that there are 6 pages missing containing 45 domiciles (not necessarily separate addresses). The schedules are in continuous sequence up to #266 at the end of ED page38 (Folio 143-2). The next actual page (Folio 144-1 which has a missing ED page #) starts at schedule 281 and is continuous to the end of Folio 144-2 (this appears to read as ED Page 42) and finishes at schedule 296. Thus there are 14 schedules missing between 266 and 281. This could be accounted for by a missing 6 and a missing 8 page schedule. I have shown my estimation of the correct page sequence in the above table.
Would someone with access to the 1881 check for the missing domiciles and post a list so that transcribers can make a note in the index. If S&N cannot fix it at least it can be noted.
The LDS Film number for this Piece is 6095539 and it would be most helpful if someone with access to the fiche would check to see if the film is also at fault.
