I would like to know if the William Speight who married Ann Phelps about
1772 in North Carolina (Gates or Perquimans? I don't remember which) is a
descendant of Francis Speight born 1614...
I thus far have my wife's lineage back to a Jeremiah Speight, son of
William and Ann (Phelps) Speight, but am confused by the two Ann's... Ann
(the elder) and Ann (the younger). Which one is the wife of William? And who
is the OTHER Ann Speight? Is she an unmarried daughter or widow of another
Speight?
Also, A Moses Speight was said to have been son of Thomas Speight and
Mary Hinton. Is this Thomas Speight the same one who lived in Hertford?
Moses Speight would have been born before 1737, when Thomas Speight died.
Was he a brother to the William Speight who married Ann Phelps?
