A new list for members and descendants of the
Buncombe/Henderson/Transylvania pioneer HEFNER family and close kin was
just founded last night. This is the family which came into Old Buncombe
County (area that is now Transylvania County near Brevard) in ca. 1802
from Lincoln County. Descendants still reside in Henderson County today.

This is an "on-line family association" allowing us to work closely
together on family history which includes the WETZEL and SUMMEY families
as well (ancestors of this line of Hefners).

Wylene Alston is Texas is serving the family as our list manager. A
message from Wylene:

If you are working on those HEFNERS who came to OLD BUNCOMBE CO., NC
about 1802-3, to what is now TRANSYLVANIA CO., NC. You are invited to
join us online. We plan on working as a team to solve the mysteries of
our HEFNERS and related surnames, (such SUMMEY, WETZEL, ALLISON,
TRAMMELL, TINSLEY etc.)
