Becky...There is an Alex'r McLeod , 1 Dec 1838/4 Sep 1862, and a Margaret
McLeod , can't read/ only read June, buried in the Gilliland/McLeods
Cemetery in Little River Twp of Hoke County. It is near the intersection of
Gilliland Rd and firebreak #38 north of Manchester Rd. Near Military grid PJ

Genealogical Society Cemetery Book, Volume One.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [NCMOORE] RE: McLeod's on 1810 census?
> I just looked at the Moore Co. website, and saw three Alexander McLeod's
listed on the 1810 census.

> I have an Alexander McLeod, I've been trying to find info on.
> Mine was born about 1770 in Scotland, and came to N.C., around 1810. He
was married to a Margaret, and there is a possibility her maiden name was
McSwain, but not sure, and she was born about 1790 in Scotland.
> They left N.C. sometime around 1818, and went to Ga.
> I also noticed some McSweens listed, and am wondering if there's a
possibility it might have been McSwain.
