Phyllis, here's a lead on Benjamin Gaither Parker.

My Parkers and the Gaithers came from the same general area of Maryland -
Charles and Prince George's counties - to Rowan NC. The Parkers came somewhat
later, c. 1790. I only know of my gggg-grandfather, Jeremiah Parker who m.
Millie Robey, moving to Rowan. The Robeys had ties to the Lovelaces and
Gaithers.

However, Jerry had several brothers who have not been identified. Some
certainly moved by the early 1800s to Sumner and adjacent counties in TN.
Jeremiah ended up in Sumner, Williamson and finally Giles, where he died in
1844 after a career as a Latin tutor and a hog farmer (what a combo).
