I was under the impression that the German spelling for Leonard was
Lenhardt...
No?

Leonard, "orphan of Henry" was apprenticed to James Lamm to be a wheelright.
I have thought they were German descent as the land grant was in the German
portion of Rowan.

Please do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT confuse the "GERMAN Valentine Leonards" and
The "QUAKER IRISH Leonards" with the "ENGLISH Henry Leonard Families of the
Jersey Settlement" in Rowan County, N.C.!!!
You must remember,...Rowan County was a "HUGE" County. These people did
not live near each other.
You must know history to research.
