Hi Betty, thanks for your response. Yes, I have considered the possibility. In a NC Archives search for a death cert., I rec'd a cert for an ANTON MILLER, (of Mecklenburg County) that was very vague. It stated that he was married, but did not give the names of spouse or parent. I could not read the name of the informant. I have the Civil service record of a TONY Miller who enlisted out of Louisiana, there is an "Anton" Miller listed in the 1860 LA census. I have found no way to connect them BUT there were very few "Tony"s" back then, which leaves me wondering.
