I am related to Heilig Family Members of Rowan County, N.C. in Salisbury, in the Heiligtown area of the city. Now, these Heilig family members are African Americans. I had an Uncle John Heilig who died in 1964; he was married to my Aunt Maggie House who died in 1955. They had seven children among them. Another Heilig, Mary Heilig, was married to my great uncle Martin House. There are also some Shad families who are related to Heiligs as well. Funny though, my Uncle John Heilig and his family lived in Armstrong, Pa., for a while back in 1930s.
