Hi Mildred-I was thrilled to hear that someone else is
closely connected to Hugh and Mary Yokley!! There are
a couple of others, too, but not through Hugh, but
Elizabeth, so you are the closest!
John and Mary did have Hugh and Elizabeth and I
descend through Hugh's daughter Mary-Andrew's sister.
She married George Eller and down to my grandmother. I
can't find anything on Hugh's father John, so I was
excited to see your deed(or will?) info. Someone
thought he'd been born in Holland, but don't know. The
only grave I know about is Hugh's at Bethany, but am
going to make a trip to there and other places in
Davidson Co to look around. I am in Raleigh,NC.
I have a copy of Ann Thomas' will, thanks. I wish we
could find her maiden name and Peter's wife. Some
think it's Lydia, as one of her daughters is,too. Her
son by her second husband was listed in a couple of
deeds with her sons by Peter, but don't know where HE
ended up. My Yokleys/Ellers stayed in Rowan and
Davidson Cos and none went to Tenn.
Thanks for getting in touch and I'll let you know
how I progress. The Mayflower group in my area said
they would help see if anyone else has come in through
Peter Dill or a yokley. Lynn Mosier
