This answers my question about when he came in. I wondered if he stayed in Philadelphia for awhile.

Hi Marla,
Carolina Cradle is a great book, it has a lot of information about the
people and what was going on in the area (mostly Rowan County) during those early
years.
I found him listed as Christopher Rentleman on the Rowan County Early
Census/Tax Lists for 1755 and 1759. Then as Christopher Randleman in Rowan County
for 1762 and 1766.
Sometimes you need to look under different spelling variations or do
searches using the "soundex" for the surname.
