Rowan County was formed in 1753 and as far as I know we still have all our records back to that date. We've been lucky that we've never had a fire. Some of the older records sustained a little water damage while stored in the old courthouse basement, but nothing lost.

Our library has one of the best genealogy rooms in the United States. People from all over the country come to use our resources.
