Dear List,
Here is my brick wall:
I am hoping to find some information on Gallant (aka Garland, Garlint)
Ayers/Ayres. Gallant is believed to have been born around 1775 in VA. He
is listed in Surry County NC and in Buncombe County NC census. His will
was Filed in Buncombe County in 1831, and he died in Yancey county NC.
He paid taxes in Franklin County
Ga, in 1807 also. He witnessed the will of Mordica Mendenhallin Guilford
Count in 1803. Although I have much info on his
descendants, I have been unable to locate parents or siblings. Old
family rumor is that his mother was Cherokee, and that is why we can't
find information. This is unsubstantiated rumor. Can anyone out there
help? Any information would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!! Thanks in advance for
anything sent my way!
