Can anyone tell me what type of mining was done in Nebraska during the 1930's? My grandfather John Maloney did some mining through WPA after the Dust Bowl destroyed his farm. I believe he mined in or around the Greeley area though he could have done in near Omaha.(I think it was near Greeley as I think the family didn't move to Omaha until after his death in 1937 as he died in Greeley. He died as a result of an injury he'd received monthsbefore while mining.
