June, 1988 Atkinson Graphic FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN KANSAS
Funeral services for Ruth V Harris were held at Davidson’s Funeral Home on June 22, She died Sat June 18 at a McPherson Kan hospital. She was visiting relatives in McPherson when she was stricken.
Mrs Harris worked in the alteration dept for National Cleaners several years before she retired.
She was born June 10,1907 at Atkinson, the daughter of Alex and Mae Elsbury Beebe, She spent most of her life in Topeka, Kan.
Mrs Harris was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church and the auxiliary to Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No 58.
She married Charles S Harris, Sr June 4,1924 at Burke, SD. He died Nov 14,1983. A son, Doanld A Harris died Aug 23,1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie L Erdman, Meriden, Kan; two sons, Charles S Harris Jr, Charleston, SC and Kenneth O Harris, McPherson; two sisters, Dorothy Schaaf of Atkinson and Lulu Ratekin of Vista,Ca; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
