I am a descendant of your gggrandmother's (i.e. Sarah J. Elgie) brother, Ralph Elgie. Sarah's parents were William and Mary Ann (Watson) Elgie, who immigrated to Canada from Yorkshire, England around 1831 and settled in Guelph, Ontario. I know the Elgie direct lineage back to about the late 1500s. I live in Hamilton, Ontario, which is just north of Clansbrassil, where Walter and Sarah (Elgie) Nichol are buried. In fact, I was just in that cemetery, last weekend, visiting their gravesite. I also know a bit about the Nichol family but would love to know more. If you are interested in sharing some common family information please contact me.
