Prior to 1922, a woman became a citizen when her husband was naturalized,
or if she married a citizen, but her name normally doesn't appear on the
naturalization papers in earlier years. Some women did become naturalized
on their own however. Send email to the National Archives in NYC including
your postal address and they will search the indexes. The address to send to
is ''. Give them as much info about her as you
know. If they find one or more candidates they will most likely respond
by snail mail.

This is hit or miss as they don't have records for all courts in NYC.
