Dear Joe:
Unless you know exactly where in the cemetery you are going, I do not
recommend you try to walk... Once you are in the neighborhood you can either
flag down or call a taxi or car service to take you to into where your
people are.

Lutheran All Faiths is very large. In fact it is two huge cemeteries, one
on either side of Metropolitan Ave. Probably hundreds of acres.

Second, the office is not open on Sunday. If you already have a map and a
plot number, great. If not, you'll be out of luck.

Third, if you are referring to "lines" for the subway, yes, it will be less
crowded on Sunday. From Penn Station you have a number of routes you could
take but you eventually want to end up on the "M" line and get off at
"Middle Village/Metropolitan Ave." in Queens. I would recommend you take
the A or the E train (blue line) from Penn Station south to 14th Street.
Transfer to the L train (you can't make a mistake here, it begins at this
junction and heads into Brooklyn). Take the L to Myrtle Ave. in Brooklyn
and switch to the M trian, NORTH to Middle Village (4 stops) which is the
terminus. Get a map of the subway system from any token booth attendant or
go online at www.mta.nyc.ny.us to see the route I've outlined for you.

The entrance to both sections of Lutheran are right there on Metropolitan
Ave. and the office is right inside the main gates, visible from the street.

6729 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379
(718) 821-1750
Lat: 40°42'44"N, Lon: 73°53'17"W
Incorporated in 1852.

Good luck and best regards. Nancy.
