Hello Catherine;
No one was born in NYC, which is why I didn't include DOB's.
Eliphalet was born about 1775 in Woodbridge, New haven, Ct.
His wife Hannah Smith was born abt. 1778 also in Ct.
Their daughter Lurenda was born in New York, probably Stamford, Delaware
County 15 July 1805. Eliphalet served in the militia there in the War of
1812.
William Willis was born 3 Feb. 1803 in Pine Brook, Morris County, NJ.
I know William and Lurenda moved to NJ; from the Directory info it appears
Eliphalet died in NYC and Hannah remained until at least 1835.
This is why I hoped to learn a street address so I could pinpoint a church
as I would like to check for records. A number of William and Lurenda's
children are credited with being born in New York or NYC.
