One conceivable good it would do is serve as a backup for people whose precious documents could be threatened by a hurricane, tornado, cyclone, fire, or other disaster.

What conceivable good would it do for a person to convert rtinformation into a digital format for his/her records. Digitizing books, newspapers is one thing but I sure do not see the point for a person's holdings.
I thought you all would be interested to know that yesterday I bought a
program which will bring in people to digitize all of my material- very complex
to
explain; but what should interest you is they have digitized everything at the
Godfrey Library so that everyone can have access to everything in their
library. I think this is quite an amazing thing, and they have done the DAR,
and
will be doing others; they do it for individuals, and are really commited to
helping individuals get their records digitized in a way that you can access
anything in many ways. Sue Maxwell
