Software:
If you like what you have and it does the job -- STAY WITH IT! Don't be
swayed by what someone else says or does or be swayed by popular opinion --
which changes. Get the facts first and then make your decision to stay
with what you have or change.

Ditto, I agree. I use Kindred Konnections software. Why? I got in to this
recently, low on $$, FREE download of software. I like it fine. But since
then, I have had access to Family Treemaker and it seems fine too. Still use
Kindred Konnections.
Here's an idea.
Kindred Konnections has a webpage that shows you a comparison chart of the
various available programs. Course, it's meant to get you to use thiers, but,
it lists the components of software that most people are concerned about. Like
how many characters will each field take etc. You might go there and see if
it alerts you to issues you haven't thought of or specific qualities that are
important to you.
As for Kind Konn, I find it to be very user friendly, and less "flipping of
pages" neccessary than FTM.
Also, FTM has a demo ver. now available on thier webpage. You might download
both of these options, input a little bit in one and see what you think. BTW,
if you input into Kind Konn, and have the FTM downloaded already, you can
convert your sample data from one to the other, very easily.
