I was reminded by the messages about the Maccabees that I had in a drawer right by my computer an object that is just a little larger than a half-dollar. On the front circumference are the words: "THE KNIGHTS OF THE MACCABEES OF THE WORLD". Under this in corresponding form is the name: "A. J. Smith". Below the name on three lines there is first in script form the word, "Tent", then "No. 570", then "N. Y". On the back there is a globe with a tent centered on it. On the circumference are the words: "ASTRA", "CASTRA", "NUMEN" and "LUMEN".
Does this sound familiar to anyone? A. J. Smith, 1872-1942, was my grandfather and he lived in Reading Center, NY.
