I am looking for any info on a Jared P. Tharp who was born in Penn Yan, Yates Co., NY in March 1810. I have no idea who his parents are. I have found 2 tharps in the 1810 census of Ontario Co. One is Peter Tharp in Gorham TWP and the other is David tharp in Seneca TWP. I have tried all other variations of the name too and have come up with 2
Thope's also in Ontario Co. One in Farmington TWP and the other in Livonia TWP. I was wondering if anyone knew what township Penn Yan would have been in Ontario Co. This would help a great deal. I believe that Jared Tharp might have been living with a brother in Fayette Co., IN in 1820. He was married in 1834 to Charlotte Cohee. Then moved on to Iowa. There was also a William and Joseph Tharp who were also married in Fayette Co., IN around the same time. I just don't know where else to look. If anyone has any idea's or help it would all be greatly appreciated.
