I can't think of a better idea than having a genealogical week including
weekends. Not only would it draw people into the area, the Chamber of Commerce
could use it as a way of getting people to visit their towns. Eagle Scouts
could do cemetery tours or make projects out of recording tombstones, etc. It
could be a town's project.
I took a trip to Auburn during a month's long genealogical research project.
By the time I arrived in Auburn, the county offices were closed for the
weekend and I had to wait until Monday to do any work. I did find the Library
very helpful and the ladies in it very willing to answer my questions.
