Subject: Ashwood- Whitehead

A sister of my gr grandmother, who was born 1842 in Ottawa, Ont., was Nancy
Whitehead who married Jack Ashwood of Ogdensburg. He was supposed to have
been in the Civil War and I believe he was a Captain. After Nancy died he
remarried. He had children, but I am not sure if they were children of his
first or second wife. My gr grandmother lived near Pembroke, Ontario and
used to visit her sister in Ogdensburg. The Ashwoods also visited our family
near Pembroke as late as 1910-1920.

There was also a William Whitehead from Ottawa who married Harriet Ashwood
from Ogdensburg in 1892. Perhaps an indication that he was related to my
Whitehead ancestors, but I have no proof of this.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has information on the Ashwood
family from Ogdensburg.
